Resumen: Desde la época romana siempre existió el Pater familias, conllevado tanto la
familia y la mujer a respetarlo. Por lo que, tanto en el Siglo XIX, siguió existiendo la
sumisión de la familia y , la mujer al cabeza de familia, hasta el periodo de la Segunda
República Española. Llegado el periodo franquista la mujer y la familia retrocedieron
en el tiempo quedando al amparo del marido. Hasta llegada la democracia en España
con la Constitución de 1978, que modifico el Código Civil adquiriendo plena autonomía
la mujer y la familia respecto al marido.

Abstract: Since the Roman era there was always the Pater families, leading both the
family and the woman t o respect him. Therefore, both in the nineteenth century, there
was still the submission of the family and, the woman a t the head of the family, until the
period of the Second Spanish Republic. When the Franco period arrived, the woman
and the family went back in time, being protected by the husband. Until the arrival of
democracy in Spain with the Constitution of 1978, which a mended the Civil Code
acquiring full autonomy for women and the family regarding the husban d.
