RESUMO
O presente artigo tem como proposta analisar a História universal, publicada em 1919 pelo escritor

como socioevolucionista.    
o início da repercussão das teorias darwinistas em algumas obras históricas, mas ganhou contornos
mais precisos nas primeiras décadas do século XX, sendo o livro de Wells o mais representativo dessa
          
metade do século XX, com a emergência da world history, corroborada por descobertas em diversos
campos das ciências naturais e mais bem fundamentada em suas aspirações de articular elementos
       História universal,
de Wells, alguns elementos articuladores da world history estão já presentes, como a opção por uma
escala temporal cósmica associada à temporalidade propriamente histórica e a crítica às fronteiras
    
um raciocínio histórico mais amplo e atinente a questões mundiais.
