ABSTRACT
The GMOs, coming from the technology of genetic manipulation, ari-
se in the consumer market with the promise of “kill the hunger of the
       
food refers us to compliance with mandatory Principles of Environ-
mental Law, which are, the Prevention and the Precautionary Princi-
ple. Thus, trace the productive chain, since the genetic manipulation
to the consumer’s table, is mandatory task of the State and of the bo-
dies that have allowed the release of this product in the environment,
under penalty of becoming uncontrollable effects that may bring the
health of the consumer and the environment, if there is contamination,
lack of care and/or absence of ethics in production of these foods. The
purpose of traceability is to allow fast and effective actions from the
